Settling in

So far so good. Flight from DFW to Madrid was long and uneventful. Navigating the airport in Madrid was so less stressful than in 2021’s Covid restrictions world. Grabbed a cab to our apartment arriving much to early to gain access, so we had coffee and and took in the motion of our new neighbors until the office opened at noon and could hold our bags.

Once we were free of our luggage, we explored the Malazana neighborhood finally relaxing with a Tinto Verano before heading back to check into the apartment.

Once in the apartment we were able to get a different perspective on our surroundings.

After a short nap, we ventured out again for an early dinner by Spanish standards; 8:00.

Best of both worlds, inside by an open window
An interesting presentation of Sea Bass. Delicioso!

We had a great meal, great wine, and a trial run using my limited Spanish.

Now after a very good night’s rest, we prepare for a Neighborhood Market and Tapas Tour followed by a guided tour of the Prada Museum on Friday before leaving for Burgos. Stay tuned….
