We finished out our last evening in Pamplona with a simple dinner and a little Tele as we needed to leave for the train station at 6:45 for our “7:45 train. (We have become accustom to rising at 9:00 so this was a big deal.). Everything went as planned until we arrived at the train station and realized I had been working with a previous schedule. So the train we were 45 minutes early for had left 45 minutes ago! After a five minute freak out and assurances from Becky that we can “work through this “, we went to plan B. The next train left in 3 hours but arrived only an hour later in Cordoba. So with a good plan and 250 euro, problem solved.

We arrived on time and found every rental car company imaginable except ours, Europcar, the largest rental car company in Europe. This time working the problem minus the freak out, we learned they were at the Bus Station. Fortunately it was across the street, so our luck was changing. We were soon at our hotel that was selected on location, but mostly because it was car friendly.

But it had a bar and a decent restaurant so things were still trending in the right direction.
The next morning we took a short cab ride to see one of the primary sights of Cordoba; the Mezquita Cathedral. Originally a mosque it is now a catholic cathedral, but as you can see, it is better suited as a mosque.

We then walked the historic neighborhood with narrow streets and even narrower walkways.

We needed to get on the road so it was time to find a cab to go back and collect the car. It was my decision to not take the cab that was available in the old city, but walk back across the Roman bridge to where the cabs would be less expensive.

There was a catch, less expensive but not as plentiful. Rest of that story is best told at happy hour.
Eventually we were on our way driving to the small mountain village 15 kilometers outside of Granada in which we would be based the next few days. I now realize I do not do quaint well. The roads leading to the town were narrow and winding, but they were super highways compared to the village roads that led to our apartment.

It is a shame as the apartment itself is great.

Again a problem we can “work through” 328 Euro later and second accommodations in Granada.
So as the day closes with a beautiful moon rise, we are taking this as an omen things will continue to work out.
You guys are such great travelers! Moving and maneuvering like geonauts with no Houston! Not a problem, just a solution, thanks. Wow. Keep it going my friends.
