On to Roncesvalles

After a great sleep in the Orisson honeymoon suite ( more on that Story at another time) it was off to Roncesvalles, Spain. Some were complaining about the cloud cover and the rain, I chose to look at it as an opportunity to walk through God’s Pillow.

Into the pillow

Sheep and cows were everywhere. Sometimes the fog was so thick you could only hear the cow bells announcing their presence. As I walked past one group of cows I heard one say to the other ( in French of course) “ and they think we are the ones with low IQ’s”.

Finally we arrived at the pinnacle, now only 4.5 kilometers down to Roncesvalles.

About half way down we dropped out of the pillow to see the patchwork quilt below.

After going to a most beautiful mass to bless the pilgrims we are settling into our comfortable albergue accommodations.

Lights have been turned out so time to rest up for the 21 kilometer hike tomorrow.

  1. That would have been scary if cars were on the path/road. Fog is calming on foot. Nice that they honor the travelers with a mass. I love the picture of the goats.
