Time for us

We knew it was time to leave Uterga when we spotted out our window the gangs that roam at night.

So the next morning we slipped out of town at day break. The path was wide and rolling allowing us to walk side by side for a change.

But all good things must end. We soon we’re on long steep uphill climb to the high point village of Cirauqui.

We knew we needed to pickup the pace when this pilgrim passed us by

We finally reached flatter terrain and could start to enjoy our time together again.

Refilling our water bottles at the city tap.
Poaching grapes along the way
We come within site of our stopping point for the day, Cirauqui.

What we would soon learn is the village streets would be some of the steepest climbs we had encountered.

Our next day hike provided more time walking together and time to enjoy the scenery.

Making progress
One of a thousand beautiful landscapes
Church that celebrated it’s 1000th anniversary in 2020
Becky finds a bike she feels comfortable riding
An even older church
We enter Estella
We treat ourselves to a private room and bath next to another big church

Now we rest before the 25 kilometer hike tomorrow.
