Getting ready for Italy

We are a week away from our three week adventure in Italy and part of the prep is to see if I can remember how to post to the blog. So here goes;

We are calling this trip Planes, Trains, and Automobiles Italy. We fly into Rome on Monday, take an all day train ride to Vernazza in the Cinqua Terre, and after four days, a hike and a cooking class, we train over to Florence. A few days later we train to Sienna and pick up a car and drive to Rick Steves favorite Tuscan town, Volterra. We then drive for a longer stay in Orvieto where we can radiate out to other sightseeing

and hiking spots. Then it is back to Sienna to turn in the car and train back to Rome, but only after staying a few nights at a working farm.

A few days of sightseeing in Rome and it is back home in October. So for now: Arrivederci.

  1. Italy is on our bucket list so I look forward to learning from your experiences. We have a trip to Ireland scheduled for next year and I ambivalently await the challenge of left side of the road driving.
