After a better Madrid experience than in 2021, we were a bit apprehensive that Burgos could live up to the hype in our minds. The almost three hour bus ride seemed to fly by and we were surprised that the bus station was only a few hundred meters from the Cathedral and our hotel. So we crossed the river and were soon to be settled in.

As we approached the hotel, ladies in brightly colored dresses kept passing by and we soon realized there were several weddings taking place with a photo shoot on the steps of our hotel. We took this as an omen of good things to come.

The advantage we have this visit is our feet are in much better condition than in 2021 so we can walk and take in a lot more sights especially the street art:

The food in Burgos is great and one of the best meals was at a restaurant in which we had a great evening when walking the Camino:

Although we are trying not to be “those Americans” taking pictures of their food, this dish of Paella warranted an exception

We have one more evening here before training to Pamplona. After such a good time in Burgos, we are sure Pamplona will be all that we expect.
