We knew it was time to leave Uterga when we spotted out our window the gangs that roam at night.

So the next morning we slipped out of town at day break. The path was wide and rolling allowing us to walk side by side for a change.

But all good things must end. We soon we’re on long steep uphill climb to the high point village of Cirauqui.

We finally reached flatter terrain and could start to enjoy our time together again.

What we would soon learn is the village streets would be some of the steepest climbs we had encountered.

Our next day hike provided more time walking together and time to enjoy the scenery.

Now we rest before the 25 kilometer hike tomorrow.

Great pictures. It’s humbling to realize that church is over 4 times older than our country. I loved the fellow pilgrim snail.
